Creating our 4th WORD Readers & Writers Festival came to Publica with their 2018 theme – ‘Be Adventurous’. We responded with an updated brand marque, visual styling, and website redesign and redevelopment.
Engaged to attract a younger audience, we took on the challenge to create a refreshed identity. Inspired by the theme, the creative team pushed the event out of its traditional styling. Whilst retaining their recognisable ‘speech bubble’-shaped icon, Publica produced an updated marque that enveloped elements of every festival event.
In changing the younger audience perception of books feeling ‘dusty’, our team showed the excitement, intrigue and calamity that can come from opening a book’s cover. Publica’s website development prioritised adding a social media feed, podcast accessibility and a more interactive browsing experience.
Our audience loved what they saw – 15,000 attendees came to the party in 2018.
