Local community organisation, The Commuting Book, brought Publica on in support of their project – to bring the joy of reading to public spaces. We brought the mission to life through the development of their brand identity and website.
Inspiration for the brand design was centred on the name, The Commuting Book. The design of the brand marque, a stylised ‘C’ formed in the shape of a book, was the foundation of a unifying brand when combined with our illustration work celebrating the writers and readers of New Zealand. The website holds content where users are taken to read stories created by both New Zealand and international authors and poets.
The result – stickers and plaques installed in public places, encouraging people to open themselves up to the (book-based) surprise that the QR code delivers.
