The first in a series of a blog posts, Publica Typography will be showcasing our various typographic & calligraphic endeavors, in & outside of the studio.
At Publica we have a love of typography and hand-drawn type, incorporating our own bespoke typefaces whenever the opportunity arises, or specifically creating them to meet briefs, helping to give our clients a truly unique brand. In the case of Tongue in Groove Wines, we opted to create an original typeface as part of the bespoke branding, to meet the very unique characteristics of their business.
Originally drawn by hand, the san-serif design was digitally touched up, and smoothed, creating pillowy characters with rounded edges, while still retaining it’s organic look from being hand-rendered. The final slender type was a perfect fit for Tongue in Groove, and was rolled out in nearly every aspect of the brand.
