WORD Festival came to Publica with their 2018 theme – “Be Adventurous”.
Engaged to attract a younger audience, we took on the challenge to create visuals that embody the 2018 event. Inspired by the theme, the creative team pushed the event out of its traditional styling. Whilst retaining their recognisable ‘speech bubble’-shaped motif, Publica produced an updated marque that enveloped elements of all festival events.
In changing young people’s perceptions of books feeling bored and dusty, we also refreshed their website – adding a social media feed, podcast accessibility, and a more interactive browsing experience.
